Who We Are

Goodwin-Arborist was established in 1998 by principal Roy Goodwin. From 1989 - 1998 Roy worked as an arborist in urban forestry and tree surgery in England, Germany and Ireland. This started with working as an assistant arboricultural officer in northern England, and then as a climber ('tree surgeon') working on many of the largest, mature urban trees throughout Southern Germany, then on the street and park trees of central and southern London, and finally then in Dublin. Goodwin-Arborist was established in 1998 to focus solely on arboricultural consultancy. In 2003 we moved from Co Dublin to Co Louth, from where we offer a nationwide service.

We have been at the forefront of quality arboriculture, and in improving the standards and standing of modern tree care in Ireland over the last 12 years. Roy Goodwin is current chair of Ireland's professional industry body: the Arboricultural Association Irish Branch, and is a lead author of the recently published Amenity Trees & Woodlands: A Guide to their Management in Ireland.
